Use case

Turn Slack messages into calendar events

Capture planning conversations from Slack and send structured invites without switching tools.

When to use this

Steps

Step 1

Open the Slack thread or huddle recap

Identify the message that contains the meeting agenda, date, and participants.

Step 2

Capture the relevant portion

Launch the Chrome extension, drag to select the portion of Slack with the key details, and confirm the overlay preview before saving.

Step 3

Review detected fields

Check the automatically extracted title, times, timezone, and meeting link. Edit or add context if needed.

Step 4

Send to Google or Microsoft 365

Pick the destination calendar or export an ICS file for another platform.

What gets extracted

Privacy & security notes

Screenshots are parsed in memory only. Structured metadata is retained for 30 days so you can revisit or delete it sooner. Review the security overview for encryption details and the privacy policy for retention options.

Common issues

Slack theme interferes with capture
Switch to the default theme temporarily or zoom in before capturing to improve OCR accuracy.
Private channel content
Only users with access to the channel can capture it. The capture never leaves your account and we store only metadata for 30 days.
Missing attendees
If the thread doesn’t list attendees, add them manually before sending the invite.

FAQ

Does this require the Slack API?

No. We read pixels from your screen—nothing connects to Slack APIs, so workspace admins do not need to approve an app.

Can I append Slack context to the calendar invite?

Yes. The detected notes field can include channel references or bullet points you add before sending.

How private are the captures?

Screenshots live only in memory for extraction. Structured metadata is encrypted and retained for 30 days by default, with manual deletion available sooner.
